B for The Brenner Pass.

The Brenner Pass.
Last week I wrote about a wonderful holiday I had in Austria (Europe); Whilst we were there we took a trip to Northern Italy to see the magical mountain range of The Dolomites (part of the Alps).
 The Brenner Pass is a pass throgh the Alps , it forms a border between Austria and Italy;
It is one of the principal passes of the Eastern Alpine range.

The Brenner Pass (mlddle right),

We stopped at  a most stunning sight it was of Lake Carezza; It has a beautiful backdrop of Pine trees and The Dolomites.

Lake Carezza.

We were heading for the City of Bolzana, in the heart of the Alps. it has a most interesting history which will saved for another time.
 Note the beautiful architecture.

The peak of The Dolomites.

Yet another amazing trip over the Brenner Pass from Austria into the stunning scenery of Northern Italy.

Please note that all of the photographs on this meme are takenby courtesy of several Google sites, my thanks to the many talented photographers.DW.

My thanks to Denise, Roger Leslie and  team for making ABCW happen.
Best wishes Di.

    1. It was one of the most lovely parts of Europe that I have visited. It was so perfect almost like a theme park but even better. I am known for my prolific memory (I'm affectionately known as Mrs Elephant by family and friends)! Good to remember lovely things but not good to remember horrid things!
      Best wishes,

  2. OMG! SO beautiful...this is one of the reasons I wish I lived in England - it's so close (relatively) to go on trips like this in Europe. Before I can even start, I have to fly over an entire continent and an ocean...tres cher, mon amie! So glad you were able to make such wonderful memories here.

    1. Glad you appreciate the beauty of one of my favourite parts of Europe. It's about a two and a half hour flight from Liverpool.
We can also drive via the Euro Tunnel, which is a doddle for France so we've done that a few times too,
      love Di xx

    1. Hi Carol, truly a gorgeous place, I think what makes it so special is that little has changed in 50 years since i was there,
The Austrians still wear their national costumes and still play and sing their traditional folk songs,,,more to come next week,
      Best wishes,

    1. Yes we are well situated for all of Europe with our local airport (10 mins drive) can get us to Austria in 2+ hours.
Austria is such a gem, it's such a small country yet every town, village and city takes such pride in their architecture and general appearance. In all the touristy places the local people don their national dress, The scenery is breathtaking.

  15. Honestly, Trubes, every single photograph here drew a gasp and an "OH MY GOODNESS" whisper of awe. Austria! Italy! I confess my envy of world travellers. I've never made it happen. (Just one trip to England/Scotland in '87). Such sights to see and I'm not getting younger (as far as I know) :) Many thanks - I've been prodded by a few lately and this post sure adds another impetus to figure out a way to see more of the world.
